Humpback Whale - [Megaptera novaengliae]
Monterey Bay, California, United StatesHumpback whales are one of my favorites of all the whales. They seem so happy to me out there. They breach, half-breach, tail slap, chin slap and lunge feed to list some of their awesome tricks/behavior. The morning I took this image, the seas were very, very calm and flat. A bit of fog so was overcast. There were many whales around and when I saw this one pec slapping, I had to try to get an image of it. I love the markings on his pectoral fin.

This photo image is made by infusing dyes directly into specially coated aluminum sheets. It has a glossy finish which produces colors that are very vibrant and the luminescence is breathtaking. How archival are Metal Prints?
Images printed with the MetalPrints process will last for generations when displayed indoors and out of direct sunlight. Like any fine art print, MetalPrints should not be exposed to direct sunlight or high outdoor temperatures. MetalPrints have an additional benefit over giclee or photographic processes in that they are waterproof and have an ultra-hard scratch resistant coating. The archival value of a print should be judged not only by its resistance to degradation by U.V. light and ozone exposure, but also to moisture and surface damage. When these factors are brought into the equation, MetalPrints are an excellent way to preserve an image.
